An alternative to the Fujifilm X100V, the OM PEN E-P7
2026-04-02 ・ photography
I had a Fujifilm X100V for ~1.5 years, until my bag was stolen, with it inside it. Fortunately, insurance was worth it!
Instead of immediately getting a replacement, I looked at what was out there. I wanted something in a similar form factor, a built-in flash, and a low aperture on a ~50mm lens, that has relatively quick autofocus.
For ~£1,000 less, I have an interchangeable lens body, and I’m happier with the style of photos! I went with a OM PEN E-P7 and a Panasonic Lumix G 20mm f/1.7 lens. OM was formerly formerly Olympus.
No real downsides so far. The OM iOS app is sufficiently good. The buttons, UI, etc. are easy to get used to.
